Annual Rehabilitation - Joelton Trunk
This project was identified to reduce wet-weather flows within the sewer system by addressing observed sources of infiltration and inflow through sewer rehabilitation. It also considers nearby sewers for inclusion in the project based on their condition, the likelihood of water migration to adjacent sewers, and the impact to customers. Work consists of the rehabilitation of approximately 2,400 inear feet of existing sewer lines by cured-in-place-pipe lining, service replacements by excavation, trenchless service renewals, manhole rehabilitation, and other miscellaneous sewer-related work.
Most of the rehabilitation work will occur in easements and public roadways. Construction methods will include trenchless technologies (pipe and manhole lining) to minimize excavation in streets and properties. However, some excavation will be necessary on certain streets, in existing easements, and in public rights-of-way for sewer service renewals to individual properties. Temporary piping for diversion pumping may be installed on the ground. Roadways and properties disturbed by the work will be restored to their original conditions as closely as possible in a manner that will ensure that MWS can maintain future access to the public sewer infrastructure.
